Welcome to the 5th Macau Symposium on Biomedical Sciences 2018

The Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Macau is excited to extend to you a warm welcome to our yearly highlighted event: 5th Macau Symposium on Biomedical Sciences 2018, which will be held in the University of Macau, Macau SAR, China from 8 – 9 June 2018.

The field of biomedical research is an exciting and ever-expanding area to explore. Our annual Macau Symposium on Biomedical Sciences aims to continue to gather talented and inspired scholars and professionals to foster discussions, knowledge sharing and potential collaborations. This year, the theme of the symposium is PRECISION, which includes but not limited to the following topics:

  • Diagnostic Imaging and Drug Delivery
  • Cancer Immunology
  • Translational Personalized Cancer Therapy
  • Cancer as a Systemic Disease
  • Tumor Microenvironment & Metastasis
  • Metabolism
  • Signaling Networks and Therapeutics
  • Developmental induction
  • New technology

Last year, we were honored to have gathered over 360 participants and scholars from ten different regions, with Professor David Largaespada from the University of Minnesota (USA), Professor Matthew Fisher from the University of California, Santa Barbara (USA) and Professor Nai-Kong Cheung from the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (USA) as keynote speakers. This year, we are excited to have invited Ada Yonath, Nobel Laureate in Chemistry 2009, and Douglas Lowy, Chief of the Laboratory of Cellular Oncology of National Institutes of Health (USA) and the receiver of the 2017 Lasker-DeBakey Clinical Medical Research Award as keynote speakers.
